Ok, I admit I stole the idea for my campaign from last weeks message from Mcdonald. So yeah....he can take credit for the idea. :)

My name is Jason Bernstein and I attend Westwinds from time to time, and plan to start going on a regular basis again.

Over the past few years I have been feeling convicted that I'm not doing enough to help the homeless people here in Jackson, Michigan and the surrounding areas. I don't have the exact statistics just yet, but I do know that there are 66,051 homeless people in Michigan on any given day. I am a recruiter for the Air Force and my office for 3 years was in the Jackson Crossing and I was amazed at how many homeless people we have in Jackson.

In the coming weeks I will be looking for volunteers who would like to be a part of our team for Operation Jubilee: Helping the Homeless in Michigan....Jackson will be the main focal point, though.

Here's my basic skeleton "draft" plan.

Phase I: Online Virtual Food Drive from December 1st to March 31st hosted by United Way @
http://www.harvesters.org/GiveMoney/Index.asp?Reference=SponsorAVirtualFoodDrive&~=

Phase II: Normal offline food drive for those who are not computer savvy. Dates to be determined. May do in conjunction with virtual food drive.

Phase III: Ok here's the biggy....begin working with politicians, big businesses, celebrities, sports teams...etc. to raise approximately $250,000 to have a "Goodwill Inn" or similar type homeless shelter in Jackson where we don't just feed them, but we teach them...tutor them...and rehabilitate to help them become a normal part of society once again.

The Goodwill Inn in Traverse City took the help of Senator Levin and Senator Stabenow to become accomplished.

Anyway, if you know anyone who would like to be a part of making a difference in the lives of the homeless tell them to contact me at:
